Director - Sales Marketing



Barstool Sports is looking for a Sales Marketing Director to join our growing Integrated Marketing team. In this role, the Director will partner with branded content studio, production, and other internal teams to answer client RFPs, cultivate proactive sales opportunities, and develop fresh marketing collateral to generate advertising revenue for Barstool Sports. This role will report to the VP of Integrated Marketing & Brand Partnerships and will manage a Marketing Manager. 

What You'll Do

  • Oversee an IM team - including day to day supervision of all materials, pitch output, custom production as well as the team’s long-term professional growth
  • Manage team to ensure that all RFPs are answered with clear, concise, and creative ideas
  • Cross-portfolio Marketing point for Sales at all high-level agency & client direct meetings
  • Maintain ownership of all high budget RFPs including:
  • Help lead the initial RFP brainstorm with AEs and Planners
  • Communication with Integrations and Branded Content Studio teams for the creation of custom activations to be included in the RFP
  • Collaborate with Sales to oversee the entire RFP deliverables timeline
  • Manage the creation of high-quality Powerpoint deliverables that successfully showcase the tactics being pitched within a “strategic sales story.” 
  • Attend pitch meetings to present ideas when necessary
  • Develop breakthrough Marketing materials that bring to life the unique selling proposition of Barstool Sports, including but not limited to sales presentations, trade website/online media kit, sizzle videos, one-sheets, and email blasts, etc
  • Support daily communication with internal and external parties, including Marketing, Sales, Branded Content, Production & Programming, Finance, Legal, Vendors, and Clients 

What You Have

  • 10+ years media or integrated marketing experience at a media company, agency, or brand with an emphasis on custom marketing solutions. 
  • Strong media background is a MUST.
  • Love the pitch process and ideating; love developing narratives to support a concept; excited by the prospect of solving a brand’s marketing needs
  • Experience in working with multiple sales and creative teams to develop custom ideas 
  • Proven experience managing a team with the ability to grow high potential employees
  • Exceptional storytelling and communication skills and a keen understanding of how to craft and evolve narratives.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently while communicating and collaborating effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Expertise in digital with a strong understanding of video, social, OTT, and emerging formats. Informed perspective on the overall media landscape, trends, consumption habits, and challenges. 
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and extremely creative; creative problem solver
  • Expertise in PowerPoint, strong understanding of Keynote and other Microsoft Office or presentation products.
  • Strong aesthetic/design ability is a requirement
  • Intrinsic curiosity and interest in the News marketplace and cross-screen media consumption.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to internal tracking systems and procedures.
  • Driven to create and innovate!
